LinkedIn Updates

1_Unlock opportunities and elevate your career with the power of AI

To empower members with the latest AI skills, LinkedIn have launched more than 100 collaboratively created LinkedIn Learning courses – with twenty more generative AI courses to follow.

From the basics to advanced applications of AI, these courses will help members gain a competitive edge in today's rapidly-changing market.

They're also beginning to roll-out new AI-powered features, leveraging advanced OpenAI GPT models, as they continue to look for ways to create more value for members and customers.

You can view the new courses here!

2_Post Scheduling

It's the update we've all been waiting for.

Native post-scheduling is now LIVE, enabling users to schedule their posts according to the preferred date and time while having complete control over the editing process.

3_Generate Video Captions

Thanks to the rapid acceleration of open-source AI tools, LinkedIn is providing the facility to automatically generate captions for the videos you upload.

Rest assured that you'll be able to edit the AI-generated captions before uploading your videos.

4_Enhanced Creator Analytics

The new creator analytics dashboard is going to include top-performing content along with audience data.

As a result, you will be able to learn more about your followers and the type of content that gets maximum traction.

With the new data exporting feature on the creator dashboard, users will be able to manage the analytics of their content in the best possible manner.

Instagram Updates

1_Introducing Broadcast Channels

Here's what Instagram had to say: Broadcast channels are a public, one-to-many messaging tool for creators to directly engage with their followers at scale.

Creators can use broadcast channels to help followers stay in the know with the latest updates and behind-the-scenes moments using text, photo, video, voice notes and polls.

Followers can react to content and participate in polls, with more features coming soon.

Our takeaway: One-way Twitter. It's not subtle, but it'll be a sure-fire hit with the doting tribes of Insta's elite influencers.

2_Quiet mode

We love the launch of the new ‘Quiet mode,’ a useful feature to help people focus whilst encouraging people to set boundaries with friends and followers. Once enabled, users won’t receive any notifications, their profile’s activity status will change to ‘In quiet mode’ and Insta will automatically send an auto-reply when someone DMs you.

3_Instagram Release 2023 Trend Report

Okay, so admittedly this went out in Q1, but we weren't posting back then. So, just in case you missed it, here's another chance to download Insta's take on the trends you can expect to see in '23.

TikTok Updates

1_"Science B*tch!" (...and math, tech and engineering)

To empower content-led education, TikTok has announced the STEM feed - a new viewing experience that will users a dedicated space to explore a wide range of inspiring, entertaining, and enriching videos related to science, technology, engineering and math.

STEM-related hashtags have received over 110 billion views to date, suggesting why the video behemoth is investing so much into the new feed.

Common Sense Networks will assess all content to ensure it's appropriate for the STEM feed, and Poynter will assess the reliability of the information presented. If content does not pass both checkpoints, it will not be eligible for the feed.

2_Monetizing content through 'Series.'

The introduction of Series enables eligible creators to post Collections of premium content behind a paywall which viewers can purchase for access.

One Series can include up to 80 videos, each up to 20 minutes long, giving people a new, longer format to watch their favourite creators and content.

Creators can select how much their Series should cost that best reflects the value of their exclusive content, which can be purchased for access via direct in-video links or through a creator’s profile.

Through Series, creators can build even stronger relationships with their viewers while also giving viewers another way to support creators.

It's about time if you ask us!

That's all for now
